C’ek’aedi Hwnax ‘Legacy House’
During a traditional tea in March 2010, Ahtna elders gave the Cultural Center its Ahtna name: C’ek’aedi Hwnax, translated as ‘Legacy House’. The name refers to the things the deceased have left behind such as belongings, photographs, recordings, and traditional knowledge. These things are the legacy our ancestors have passed on to us.
